May 19th 2010: conference at the Cité de l’Architecture (Paris)
The aim of this conference was to present the actions of the Foundation
of Emergency Architects as well as to thank the private donors who help
us to carry out these projects.
Francis Rambert, director of the French Institute of Architecture was in
charge of the welcoming the guests and the introduction.
Running for the Foundation:
On the 11th April 2010, a team of 7 students from the EDHEC business school rallied to the support of Emergency Architects, having decided to run the Paris marathon under the foundation’s name.
This race was a success on all levels because the whole team managed to finish the race with times which varied from 3h20 to 4h23 and this enabled them to collect 2,431 Euros thanks to the website aiderdonner.com.
Emergency Architects warmly thanks the sportsman for their support and their stamina!
Conference at the Pavillon de l’Arsenal (Paris) February 8th, 2010
Patrcik Coulombel, President of the foundation Emergency Architects, who had just returned from the capital of Haiti, was invited by The Pavillon de l’Arsenal. The Emergency Architects Foundation obtained a special mention at the AMO prize
The Emergency Architects Foundation was very happy that its rebuilding project of post earthquake accommodations in Java obtained a special mention “initiative” at the AMO prize 2009.
This project is following the earthquake that devastated the region of Jogyakarta in Indonesia in May 2006 and included the reconstruction of 53 accommodations, 1 nursery and 1 nursery school.
We also want to thank all the people who took an active part in the realization of this project: Romain Gagnot, architect, Alexis Cartigny, architect, Olivier Le Gall, architect, Oriane Le Roy Liberge, architect, Géraldine Nollet, architect et Rémi Kaupp, engineer.
But also all the local employees and the beneficiaries who were deeply involved and who give the opportunity to this great human adventure.
And obviously we thank our partners for this project, who made possible its carrying out: The Abbé Pierre Foundation, the National Council of the French architect’s order, Imerys, the Rhône Alpes region, the hall of Briey, the Patrick Bourrat Association "for the school continuation", and Somfy.
